French 77

One of my favorite celebratory cocktails is the French 77, and the arrival of my beautiful new champagne coupes from Anthropologie gave me the perfect reason to to break out the bubbles. This beautiful gold leaf tray from Charlotte's is a gorgeous serving piece; it perfectly accents the thin gold rim of the coupes. It would also look amazing with this brushed gold glassware. I was also experimenting with some of their Haute Papier napkins and coasters to figure out which styles I like best. I immediately gravitated to the rose gold Greek key monogram on chocolate cocktail napkins. I love rose gold. Love. Haute Papier offers just about a million color, font and monogram options, and I'm not evening talking about their gorgeous stationery. Another great option for a party or special event are their custom coasters. You'll note I paid special attention to the giraffes. (See below.) The ladies at Charlotte's can help you customize your stationery wardrobe in-store, as well as coordinate matching paper items. It's a gorgeous line.

Call Charlotte's at North Hills or Cameron Village for more info on the leaf tray or Haute Papier or for help with ordering details.

On to the cocktail! The French 77 features St. Germain (or try these), which is Elderflower liqueur, which is delicious. It sounds magical and it adds just a hint of sweetness. The French 77 is a play on the French 75 (which is gin-based). And it looks so glamorous in a coupe!

French 77

1 oz St. Germain
1/4 oz Lemon Juice (aka a splash)

Make:

Pour St. Germaine and Lemon Juice into champagne coupe, add Champagne
Garnish with a lemon twist
Repeat!
