Golden

Champagne Coupes At The CFDA
I think gold accents for New Year's are fun. It adds warmth to the tabletop and room. Here are some cute inspiration pics for partay planning. Even if you just throw a little glitter around or use some cute gold-foil coasters. I also want to highlight my love of champagne coupes as opposed to the more commonly used flutes. They are SO glamorous. It makes me think of Gatsby and Prohibition and devil-may-care attitudes (which often accompany champagne consumption). The are pretty hard to find-or at least really pretty ones are. Williams-Sonoma has a few options but you may want to investigate Etsy or Ebay for some super special sets. Shop gold below!

Gift Guide: Beauty

Beauty items make great stocking stuffers! Here are some of my favorite products right now!

1. NARS "Schiap" lipstick is INSANE! I am not typically a lipstick wearer, but every once in a while it's fun to add some color. I got this gorgeous shade at Woo in Charlotte; you can shop it here as well. Inspired by famed designer Elsa Schiaparelli's signature "shocking pink" color, it's not for everyone, but I'm in love and NARS in any shade is amazing.

2. If you haven't heard the Beautycounter doctrine yet, I suggest you watch one of their videos and learn what you probably don't know about your beauty products. It's scary. Their health-conscious products are luxurious, beautifully packaged, and safe. Shop online, or find a local rep to test the products out!

3. Hermès Un Jardin Sur Le Nil is possibly my all-time favorite scents. It's fresh and green and extremely subtle. It reminds me of spring and sunshine. I don't even like to throw away the bottle!

4. If you don't want to worry about getting the right color or fragrance, brushes make a fantastic gift. Having good brushes really does make a huge difference. This cute set from Bobbi Brown is perfect for travel or tossing in your handbag and has all of the essentials!

ICYMI

In case you missed it: THIS is what you're missing if you don't get over to Vermillion today! The Woods trunk show will be in store through this evening! It. Is. Gorgeous!

The Woods At Vermillion

Look at this stuff! Isn't it neat? (Sorry.) But really, these are some of my favorite pieces from The Woods Fine Jewelry, which will be in-store at Vermillion tomorrow and Thursday. This earthy/rocker/chic line is designed by a pair of Aspen-based sisters, and should 100% be on your holiday wish list. They use a variety of high-end materials and diamonds to create a subtle, and (I would say) informal glamour. I want to see these jewels on Patti Hansen or her daughters-if that doesn't make sense, please click here. Head over to Vermillion this week to see these luxe lovelies in person!

Cravings

I don't understand where December has gone? Have you seen it??? WHERE HAS IT GONE! I swear I'm putting up the twinkle lights tonight. Doing a new format for links here, anybody dig it? Just thought I'd test it out. Before I address these links, I have a few topics of discussion. Number One: so this boy band, One Direction? They're kinda adorable? They were on SNL with The Rudd (and the Anchorman 2 cast!) and I find them infinitely more enjoyable than American Boy Bands of yesteryear. I don't know any of their songs, but one they did on SNL was really good, almost folk-y and I think they actually sung live! They just seem like they'd actually be fun to hang out with. (If I were 17.) I can even deal with their skinny jeans. It's better than THIS. Secondly, OMG, Homeland is good again! Just wanted to get that out there. Now, onward!

Listen: Counting Stars is on repeat. Makes exercise enjoyable.
Watch: Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth. You really just need to trust me.
Wear: J Crew Waffle Knit Cashmere Henley, on SALE. Snuggle away.
Read: Johnny Cash: The Life. I'm not done with it yet, but man is it good. Don't expect to love him all the time though.
Eat: Get like Bey and Jay. Just kidding, I don't think these are vegan. But this is a meatless sandwich I can get behind!

Gold Menagerie

OH EMM GEEE! I'm a Jonathan Adler lover for sure; a grown person should probably not possess as many elephant or giraffe-themed decor items as reside in my home. (#sorrynotsorry) But these bags are 100%, totally irresistible! Chic and yet playful. The gold snake + red leather is everything. I would love it with black skinnies and a black sweater. Doves, dachshunds, and foxes are some of the other creatures adorning the collection. Shop them here and here.

Kelly Wynne

The next bag I get will be one of these bad boys! I am CRAZY about this Texas-based line, Kelly Wynne, and especially the gorgeous custom leather and clean lines. Don't you love the texture? There's not a single bag I wouldn't fight you over. The clutches are gorgeous for a night out, and the handbags offer everything from the perfectly sized crossbody to a holds-all-your-junk tote. And, my fave, they are made right here in the U.S. of A! #ShopLocal #ShopSmall! Great holiday gift idea, or holiday look finisher! Shop online here, and check them out on Facebook (many cute "bag action shots")!

Holiday Bits

Caroline Ceramics is a favorite around these parts, and as we head towards a weekend of holiday shopping lunacy, I'd like to point out that you could save yourselves the headache and shop Caroline's website from the comfort of your couch. Her pieces are stunning and most definitely keepsakes; they are also handmade right here in Raleigh, NC (and we can all thank her new husband for being able to claim her)! Her beautiful, simple roses also come with an added bonus: 30% of the sales from the "Abby Roses" will go to the Raleigh Rescue Mission. Don't forget this Saturday is Small Business Saturday, so make sure to visit your favorite local spots! Look out for another shop local/shop small post coming soon!

Take Me Away

In honor of this MIZ weather we on the East Coast are under currently, let's check out the Marysia Swim Resort collection and name places we'd like to be wearing them! I'll start: Nevis! (Or St. anywhere)
