Break Out The China

I just had to post this gorgeous dress from the Christian Dior Spring '09 Haute Couture collection. The ever-so-tasteful ladies of Hayden Olivia in Charlotte posted this earlier today and I was bowled over by it! I love the suggestion of a beautiful china pattern~what an inspired way to wear blue on your big day! An incredibly stunning and unique look!

Black Tie

Rachel Zoe Fall '11
I so love the idea of an exquisitely tailored suit for a woman; it can be both sophisticated and sexy. Over the past few years I have been absolutely enamored with women's tuxedos. I remember a DVF version a few seasons ago, done in both black and cream versions, that probably had to go into witness protection due to all of the stalking of it I did. This coming Fall is giving me more to obsess over. I love the very literal, almost retro version that Tibi sent down the runway. White dinner jacket, feminine ruffled blouse, tailored cropped trouser-a fun version that can be broken down or worn together.

But I must tell you, I absolutely blacked out at my computer when I saw the version from Rachel Zoe's new collection that is previewing on Neiman Marcus' website right now. It is stunning. All white, sexy, feminine tailoring. Gorgeous. Each piece is spectacular. A women's tuxedo is certainly not a look that everyone could-or would-wear, but I think everyone could be served well by a well-tailored suiting look.

2012 Already??

It is absolutely impossible to believe that 2011 is more than half-way over. Everywhere I look-stores, magazines, websites-I'm seeing Fall roll out. While looking at turtlenecks and fur-lined vests is just too daunting right now, this adorable wall calendar from mac & murphy in Charleston is much more palatable when contemplating the changing seasons. This adorable 2012 calendar by Linda and Harriett is a bright and cheerful way to stay organized in the coming months.
