I just can't stop with the florals can I? This weather is tripping up all of my Spring dreams. When the lovelies at Plum Pretty Sugar put me on to their collection for bridal mecca BHLDN, I was totally sold. Their exclusive BHLDN collection is like a walk through the garden. The three prints for the line feature hand-painted florals on their über-soft and feminine cotton robes and PJ sets. Totally for the romantic hearts. They make for really lovely bridesmaid gifts and are great bridal gifts too. They even come in sets based on your numbers for easy ordering! I can't think of anything prettier in which to luxuriate and lounge about. (And make for cute pics: evidence here and here.) My personal faves are the Breezy Bloomfall Shortie Set in the "Viviette Encounters a Lark" print, the long Kimono Robe in the "Calliope Beneath the Stars" print and the Breezy Bloomfall Pant Set in "Imogen Whisked Afloat". Even the prints sound romantic! Shop the collection here and here.

The Weekend
This was how I spent my weekend. (No that's not me sillies.) My precious baby brother got married to the prettiest little bride ever at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. Just thought I'd share a few pics. We're all so happy and proud of them. It was THE weekend.

Precious Metals
I had a wonderful weekend celebrating one of my most special friend's big day. It was nothing short of spectacular, thank you very much. I had a lot of compliments on my footwear-these gorgeous gold and silver sandals from Sam Edelman. As usual with Sam Edelman, there are several color-ways, AND, they're on sale!

A Peach Of A Look

There will probably be a lot of "Questing" this Spring. As some of you may know, my little baby brother is getting married this Summer, which leads to a considerable amount of outfit prospecting. Thus, the Quest. I tend to focus (err...fixate) on the fashion aspect of events like these. A wedding requires multiple outfit changes, and, in the Golden Age of social media you can feel significant pressure to avoid repeats-making this a costly, yet exciting challenge. I am also attempting to help my sweet mother find her Wedding Weekend lineup, which comes with an entirely different set of challenges. (Hee.) I like to draw up a seasonal fashion map-a list of events, what the attire might be, and then go to work planning. I web-stalk, then boutique-stalk, I like to check with my local stores to see if they've got something before I buy it online (#shoplocal). This is a roundabout way to get to my main point: I really enjoy this two-piece ensemble from Tibi. The laser-cut work is lovely, the color makes me blackout, AND you can work this look for multiple events. I could wear it together with big sparkly stuff for a more cocktail-y (yet conservative) look, and split the pieces up for a shower or luncheon. Not to mention working them into the daily wardrobe for both work and play! BTW, both the Pia top and skirt come in black if you're looking for something more subtle. Shop the look here.

It is finally the time of year that white white can look good again. As you may know, I'm a huge fan of a fabulous white dress. I know it can be difficult to find an occasion for a white cocktail dress if you're not a bride, but these styles from Tibi offer some flexibility. Accessorizing can take these to just about any event, and if you ARE a bride would be perfect for summer cocktail parties and showers.

Wang It
Via Vera Wang
I most likely, if I ever get hitched, will not go red down
the runway. (Most likely.) I believe that would do my father in, and he’s been
far too good to me to go out like that. Howeva, I swoon for this red concoction
from Vera Wang’s Spring 2013 collection. I’m totally on board for something in
the cream family. The drape and the back are to die for. I love that she’s
gotten sick of sending 30 white dresses down the runway every season and
instead has been offering these really dramatic gowns in black (!) or red (!!).
I like the idea of doing something different, maybe color or length, Oscar de
la Renta even sent pants and a crop top down his Bridal runway this week. I
think it’s far more acceptable to take a risk these days, and though I probably
would shy away from a crop top or vixen red I might someday go for a lovely
lilac or some such.

| Megan Park dress from Vermillion |
Most of you have probably picked up on the fact that I'm not really in to using pictures of myself on this blog. I find, amazingly I know, that the models tend to do it better. There was even a failed attempt to do one of those cool, here's a picture of my kick-ass outfit Instagram shots, but it resulted in everyone agreeing that that's "not my thing". But I'm making an allowance this time to share what was one of my favorite outfits possibly ever, as well as some details from a beautiful wedding last weekend. I will say that my Megan Park mini-caftan from Vermillion is going down as one of my personal fave fashion moments. I loved the color and comfort factor, and the exquisite beading around the neck line. To accessorize I carried this insannnnnnnnnnnneeeee glitter-bombed Anya Hindmarch clutch, also from Vermillion* and went with some simple Sheila Fajl hoops from Charlotte's. Since the reception was in an absolutely stunning backyard, I went with an older, simple nude heel to avoid wear and tear.
*Shout out to a one of my favorite people, holler!

For the Friday night party I went with a bit more structure: I paired this beautiful Shoshanna dress (Monkee's Raleigh) with my Rag & Bone (Vermillion) tuxedo blazer and a pair of Rachel Zoe platform pumps (Monkee's Raleigh). Yes, I did fall down, no I refuse to blame myself, the shoes, or 3 cocktails. To all of the witnesses, thank you for not clapping when I got up. I have taken it on as a personal challenge to master walking in those shoes. Anyhoo, I tossed in some (admittedly not masterful) shots from the wedding which was absolutely beautiful and sweet.
