I love the rich, red color (rococo red, of course) of the Café Capri pant from J Crew. The line of the pintucking down the front is so sleek and slimming. Great for holiday.

Double Take

So, we want to take Tibi Resort into Spring. The beauty of Resort is the wear now/wear later line of reason you can use whilst shopping. Transition the top with a great slouchy, skinny jean and some booties, and then....when the time is right....throw on some shorts and a cute flat and head into Spring.

In honor of the much debated Penguin Books/Random House merger. Tibi intarsia knit penguin sweater. What better to warm you up and cheer you up at the same time. Two birds one stone? Ba dum chee. Here all weekend.

I am obsessed with this oatmeal heather felt MacBook cover by Asheville, NC Etsy shop Joyner Avenue. By way of my jobs I have several Apple products that need some sort of protective covering, but I haven't been able to find anything that wasn't either outrageously expensive or too overly-logoed. I love the colors and the warm fuzzy feeling the Joyner Avenue sleeves give me.

It's Easy Being Green

GAME DAY: Blue Edition

This powdery coat from J Crew is easy and sophisticated.

Today we are looking at some options for the Tar Heel lovers amongst us. My thoughts on game day are this: be comfortable, boots, flats, booties=all reasonable choices. The girl in pumps always looks uncomfortable, and kinda like she's trying too hard. Remember, it's football, not a cocktail party. A great jacket with special detailing or in a fun color is a good way to go-and then you really don't have to think much further than that.

A nice neutral look like this camel Allude sweater dress and printed Malene Birger scarf from Fleur is a nice, subtle way to go.

Pair this Acne wool sweater with a denim shirt and some tan waxed jeans (like the Citizens Rocket, which we saw yesterday in "Venetian Blue") for a casual yet stylish look.

This simple Tibi shirtdress can be worn about a thousand different ways. A tan, flat boot and belted is a chic and easy look. Maybe throw on this Missoni scarf for some texture?

GAME DAY: Red Edition

Tibi Colorblock dress, (with a touch of oxblood), would be perf with the Rag & Bone Newbury bootie in Burgundy.

This weekend is a pretty big deal. Not so much because UNC and NCSU play each other, no, more importantly what will we all wear? I will always make the case that Carolina Blue is simply a more attractive color, but I will give you some inspiration for the other side today. Since everyone can appreciate fashion.

The Tibi Ponte Tunic is a great option with some skinny jeans or leggings and boots, maybe throw on a belt for some contrast.  Also available at Monkee's of Raleigh.

What about this draped Alice + Olivia top from Gena Chandler with some waxed black skinny jeans? I am obsessed with Citizen's Rocket Leatherette jeans, which also come in a sick tan version. Perfect shape with a leather look (without a leather price!).

Surfer chic: what surfer girl wouldn't want a stylish wetsuit? This polka dot version from Cynthia Rowley (available on pre-order now at Moda Operandi) is perfect for hanging ten and looking good. Don't make fun of my surfer references. I've extensively researched this topic. Read: I've seen lots of surfing movies.  

Lobster claw. I have a "vintage" Tibi dress with a zebra galloping across the front. A great shape really similar to this one, and ya know what? It makes me smile. I feel like I have a buddy getting me through the day. Me and my zebra. Kickin' tail. The lobster is Tibi Resort (also on pre-order now), and should totally be a part of your long-range shopping plan.

Ann Keane's "Faith and Desire" as shown in a pretty sick Isle of Palms home from Charleston Magazine's August issue. Check out that link to take a tour, it will probably mostly just make you sad though. 

I LURVE this Shoshanna shirtdress from Fleur. The pleating detail is adorable, and it is a great transition piece. They've also paired it with a necklace from Balboa, one of my favorite jewelry lines by Jane Pope Cooper. 

Speaking of which, I absolutely adore the Trillion Branch ring from JPC (Jane Pope Collection-Balboa's sister line). I love the earthiness of the setting and the honey tones, combined with the clean angles of the citrine. All of the JPC line is sick-not to mention she does custom work as well...trouble....

It is finally the time of year that white white can look good again. As you may know, I'm a huge fan of a fabulous white dress. I know it can be difficult to find an occasion for a white cocktail dress if you're not a bride, but these styles from Tibi offer some flexibility. Accessorizing can take these to just about any event, and if you ARE a bride would be perfect for summer cocktail parties and showers.

A little update from Van Jean, Columbia's shopping Mecca. I KNOW that your boyfriend/brother/husband will tell you that those Tibi pants are too much, but, as with most things in life, they don't get it. I LOVE the bright on bright here, and feel the same about the Hunter Dixon shirt dress/Roarke necklace below. Van Jean recently started carrying one of my fave neck accessory lines, Roarke, which has some roots in NC. These are a couple of the gorgeous hand-beaded confections currently in VJ.
