Art Pop: Jennifer Flannigan

This is just a little taste of what is to come for the Jennifer Flannigan Pop Up this Friday and Saturday! Jennifer's abstracts are amazing, striking pieces, and her work has been featured on both Style Me Pretty and The Glitter Guide. She can move between colorful, gold tinged pieces to stark black + white abstracts seamlessly and I admire her work soo much. I'm so excited to host her this weekend; Friday her work will be featured on Ramey Rhodes's first cyber pop-up, and on Saturday Jennifer and her work will be at the Ramey Rhodes studio from noon-6 PM. One of her pieces should definitely be on your wish list, and would be a perfect holiday treat! Click here for pop up details and click here to see some of Jennifer's work.

Novel | Furbish | Pop-Up

I popped into the Charleston trunk show at Furbish yesterday to check in with the über-talented ladies of the Novel. showroom; those ladies being Liza of Bon Vivant, Lauren of Library, Jane of Jane Pope Jewelry and artist Way Way Allen. Furbish was serving up White Whale cocktails and there was entirely too much amazingness. I mean, y'all see those "Hola" notecards ^^^, right? The gorgeous pale pink opal Jane Pope earrings are on my Christmas list, well, I guess they are my Christmas list. Lauren's gorgeous Library collection was on display AND you folks that couldn't make the show yesterday are SO fortunate, because you can shop her collection on Furbish today!!! Check out the pop-up here. Speaking of, you may have recently seen Way Way's Furbish pop-up, which was featured on the site a few weeks ago. Her warm, abstract paintings are so perfect for adding soft color to a room, check out more of her work on her gorgeous website here. In short, if you missed it, you missed out! :)

Artist Jennifer Flannigan

Oooo I am loving these abstract pieces from Raleigh artist Jennifer Flannigan. I love that many of them have great texture and pretty gold detail. I am craving the black and white abstracts, I've actually been considering trying to do a couple like that on my own, but you wouldn't believe how incredibly hard it is! That graphic style would look so fantastic over that imaginary navy (or emerald) velvet couch I am getting. Maybe even in a minimalist gold frame? Maybe yes? She also has some playful pieces like the cactus and the kiwi, which are adorable. I highly recommend that you check out more of Jennifer's work here and and read more about the artist here.

Erin Gregory

These gorgeous, abstract florals from Erin Fitzhugh Gregory will brighten any room. I swear, I used to think I was moderately capable at "art" until a recent Pinterest-fueled foray into abstract painting. Guess what guys! It's hard. I digress. Erin's work extends into landscape and figurative paintings. I am in love with the little tutu girl (see below). She currently works from Columbus, GA and in addition to her work being featured in galleries, One Kings Lane (hello), etc. she also takes commissions. Holler! See more of her stunning work here

Friday Faves

Some odds and ends for your weekend! Can you believe it's March? I love the return of color in Spring; I've already noticed some of the trees trying to bloom. I love the aqua and powdery blues I'm starting to see pop up in the stores...and some neons too! I adore the color of the dress (above) from Topshop; the whole thing has such a vintage look to me-I kinda couldn't believe it was from mass-production master Topshop.

In love with these buggars. Wear these to work or play. I would also say that these could be a great option for a bride looking for a flat. They're special, sweet, and totally wearable after the fact!

Party Lines

What a fantastic cocktail club or party idea! Wine & Design in Raleigh is featuring these lil' guys in light of the upcoming political season, and I think it's a pretty safe way to tackle politics with your friends. Or least least provides a distraction if someone ticks you off. If you're not familiar with Wine & Design let me break it down for you: it's a painting class that encourages wine consumption (responsibly of course), and even if you're not in Raleigh, there's probably one near you-they W&D girls (stylish Raleigh citizens and moms BTW) have been expanding across the South on a hot pace!
