I'm feeling distressed black skinnies for Fall. Rocker style. But as you can see below, can be styled with a prim swing coat for a totally different look. These will be a Fall staple!

I was pondering window covering solutions this weekend, specifically for a space that is fairly small with some larger furniture pieces taking up a lot of real estate. I was thinking that a print might be overwhelming, and that a darker solid like navy might be, well, too dark. And then I thought, TASSELS! Since tassels are the most fun things ever, and how can you go wrong with white, these panels from Serena & Lily seem to make all the sense in the world! I realize that this could potentially be an easy DIY, but really, who has the time. (And if you do, call me...I need curtains.) I think these add a little texture and interest without adding too much noise. And I love little dog butts.

Chanel Couture | Fall '14

Chanel. Couture. You know to expect greatness. Sublime beading and detail work, other-worldly shapes, transformative hair and makeup. I'm a sucker for beadwork, as well as white dresses, and this collection has both in spades. The top look is my favorite, so perfect for a bride. I love her punky platinum hair with this sweet shape and the PINK bows on the shoes! That's the other thing: THE SHOES. A little nod to ballet, but don't you want every pair? I usually get to distracted to notice the footwear, but I'm in love with these. And the finale...a pregnant (virginal looking) bride looking utterly regal. Subversive.

This super simple linen tank is an absolute staple. The drapey fit is oh-so-comfortable and flattering, and the studding detail adds a little interest. I love it with jean shorts for the weekend and paired with a great blazer for work. EVERY color is fantastic, and they're a good buy-not hard on the wallet!

Have you ever seen such? In the world of couture I think people expect a bit of the theatrical; they expect a spectacle. The Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda A/W '14 presentation is nothing short of magical. The Italian designers presented this exquisite collection, cliffside on Capri, as Hamish Bowles and Anna Wintour (and a bunch of European royals) looked on. Models arrived barefoot on boat. The collection is so feminine, so glamorous, so....everything. The full, striped skirts are sublime. I can't imagine how dreamy it must have been to be there. There's something so southern about it to me.

Summer Plaid

I did a little light long weekend shopping to fight off the post-holiday blues. (Insert red, white and blue joke here.) This glorious cotton popover from J Crew was the only regularly-priced item in my haul and it was WELL worth it. The coral and aqua plaid + light-weight cotton is perfect for summer and transition here in the South. I want to live in it. I also scored some amazing sale buys, which I'll share later, but I also want to tell you about the white/distressed/boyfriend jeans I got for $20 at the Gap. Twenty. Dollars. Paired them with some DV Dolce Vita sandals similar to the ones pictured below.

What better way to celebrate the most festive holiday of the summer than with a giveaway!
