Fall Shopping List: Animal Print Flats

A must-have for me this year was an animal print flat. Since I wear a lot of black or white the print really pops, and, if you're like me, a little goes a long way. It's the perfect way to add some interest to a monochrome look without adding color. This pair of Steve Maddens were an absolute steal, already under $80, and then I scooped them up on sale at Piperlime. They sold out there, but are still available here. I HIGHLY recommend them. Check out more options below, there's something for every price range!

Very Vintage

Vintage dress, House Of Landor | Clutch, Kelly Wynne | Shoes Pour La Victoire, similar

Vintage clothing can be such a beautiful thing. It's SO hard to find those pieces that transcend time and preserve the quality that makes a garment exceptional. I've always loved vintage curators, and Mary Beth of House Of Landor has finally opened the gateway here in Raleigh. She has an edited, gamut-running collection that has made its home at another favorite, FINDS off of Whitaker Mill Road. Mary Beth can source looks for any occassion, from cocktail dresses to furs. These are two of my current favorites; I'm a sucker for boho anything. This earthy-toned dress with gold accents strikes a perfect balance of comfort and style. The construction and detail are perfect. No flaws, no wear. OH, and the sunglasses are vintage too. Don't mind if I do. The second look is this craaazy canary yellow gown, with bonkers beading detail. The dress floats. Again, comfort AND glamour. Check out House Of Landor here and please make your way to FINDS to see Mary Beth's beautiful collection.

More From Lela

Some of my absolute favorites from the Lela Rose Spring '15 trunk show at Vermillion. The gloriousness cannot be overstated. And I snuck in a shot of my sweet friend Ashley, owner/genius of Vermillion, nestled in the store's newly updated nook, looking gorgeous in Lela.

Lela Rose + Vermillion

Lela Rose is more or less flawless in my humble opinion. Classic, conservative, occasional edge. The Spring '15 trunk show is happening now at Vermillion. Look at this mind-boggling collection please. You see that dress up there ^^? Blue and white, scoop cape back crazy bananas thing? I need that. Do yourself a favor and head to the Vermillion show, even if you're not shopping, it is a true delight to see such beautiful and fine work live and in person. It's really exquisite, and anyone that loves fashion will appreciate her work. Click here to see the runway.

Printed

Veronica Beard Shirtdress, Vermillion
Another fantastic fall staple is a great mostly casual dress in a pretty print. I typically do more solids or stripes because they're no-brainers, but I think it's important to keep color in your fall + winter wardrobe. All black everything only adds to my seasonal anxiety disorder. This Veronica Beard shirtdress has it all-gorgeous print mix, long sleeves, pockets and a drawstring waist. Totally comfortable and casual but can be worn to dinner or drinks with an accessories change. See below for more options!

Fall Shopping List: Peep Toe Booties

Coat Veronica Beard via Vermillion, Tank Madewell, Booties Mia, Skinny Jeans Rocket High Rise COH

Back to the Fall Shopping List! Peep toe booties are everywhere, and I particularly like the more casual, stacked heel versions that are really almost "slingback" in nature. They look sleek from the front, but you get the support of the stack heel in the back. Kinda party in the front, business in the back? The pair I'm wearing above, from Mia, are SO. VERY. COMFORTABLE. I can wear them all day with no qualms or complaining. Even wore them tailgating! I've paired them with everything from shorts and jeans to dresses and they look great. Did I mention they're under $75? I love that they aren't delicate, and the combination of design elements (stacked heel, peep toe, etc.) really let the shoes make the outfit. Wear them with jeans and a sweater and it looks like you tried. A great everyday option. See below for more options!

1. Mia Esperanza (steal!!!)  |  2. Seychelles Discovery (steal!!!)

3. Rag & Bone Wyatt  | 4. Vince Addison or try the Faye

UPDATE 9.24.15: try this style from Dolce Vita (or this version in black) over on Shopbop, or this great option from Joe's here and here. I also like the Splendid Janet or the fringey Fume by Belle.
if your favorite is sold out!
