Ode To The Caftan

I may be off on this, but I am a total sucker for a caftan. An Issa caftan? Pfffft. Heaven. I love everything about this dress. Color, drape, comfort-all of it. It's chic, it's bohemian. To quote Rachel Zoe, "it's everything". Has she trademarked that? But it is. Casual or black tie, heels or flats, the beach or the city: it's versatile and beautiful.

Friday Faves

How amazing is this outfit? This lightweight peachy-pink sweater by Alexander Wang from Vermillion is to LIVE in! Wear it layered with a slouchy gray tank and corally red skinny jeans from Rag & Bone. It's such a great casual-chic look and right on trend.

I'm clearly in a weekend kind of mood! This maxi t-shirt dress by Sophomore is perfect for Saturday brunch Mimosas. I love the bangles they've paired with it; I'd add a cool braided leather belt to change up the look. The one below by Vince Camuto is a great deal, and I LOVE the double wrap look-so versatile.

On to a less casual maxi look. I adore this Tibi Arizona print maxi from Gena Chandler. It's so gauzy-perfect for a summer wedding.

I feel super passionate (sorry to be dramatic) about these "Fallen" earrings from Balboa/Jane Pope Jewelry. Polished flint and fossilized coral? Who knew! I think these are show stoppers. And for those in the South-Balboa (and some of my other FAVORITE ex-pat designers) are taking their show on the road and hitting some of the South's best boutiques. Read about it here, and mark your calendars!!!

Spring Fashion: Vermillion

The Vermillion Spring fashion show was a well-styled tutorial in some of the season's biggest trends. Colored denim, bold stripes, soft pastels, peplums, and some Celine bags for extra fabulousness. These are my favorite looks from the show (although it was hard to narrow down). Vermillion has added Rag and Bone and 10 Crosby to their mix, and I'm loving the downtown feel it's added to the store. Some of my old faves made appearances: the INSANE dress above is a peek at Lela Rose pre-Fall, it was utterly stunning; the gorgeous strapless maroon Zac Posen was perfection. OOH! And shout-outs to my very favorite glamour experts in town: Dawn Carrington of Glam Lounge for hair and Fiquet Bailey of Luxe for makeup. Photos by Nick Pironio.

The Row. Rag & Bone fedora. Just so y'all know-I'm getting a fedora. I am going to be a fedora person.
10 Crosby blazer (OMG), Rag & Bone jeans, Celine bag
Zac. Posen.
Jason Wu. Peplums and feathers!!!!

Maxing Out

With simple gold accessories for a dressier look.
This gorgeous maxi from Alice + Olivia is a Spring must. First of all the petal color is one of those colors that looks good on sooo many people, but can also really essentially serve as a neutral. It can be paired with just about anything. The lovely Allison, manager of Gena Chandler, has styled it a few ways here from cocktail to casual. Get it quick ladies!
With best-selling Veda leather jacket (a closet staple for all of the girls at Gena Chandler) for more of a dinner and drinks look.

I love this: paired with a Missoni scarf for a casual look.

More Stripes!

I'm sooo excited about my new Annie Griffin top from Charlotte's, I foresee it becoming a staple. I think we all know at this point that I am a total sucker for some good old nautical stripes. I will tell you the pictures don't even do this justice; I've seen several of the pieces pictured above and they're pretty killer, OBSESSED with the red dress. I love how easy the shapes are. Most of the AG pieces can totally go from work to play. The striped top is going to look just as good with a pencil skirt as it will with some white skinny jeans and wedges. The striped top, the red dress, and the striped dress are in at Charlotte's, and they're getting more in!!! I think I need the shirt in red too??

Tilda Dress via Shopbop
I'm starting out with a potential "Spring Wedding Season" outfit. I am in love with this dress from Elizabeth and James. It's deceptively unexpected. For me, it would need some hemming-I just can’t do that length, I simply don’t have enough leg. Paired with these B Brian Atwood fringy sandals in this gorgeous dusty pink color, I think it’s a pretty amazing look.

B Brian Atwood Cassiane via Saks

The Benson Chair via Anthropologie
The Benson Chair from Anthropologie is my new fave. I love the depth of the seat, and the great neutral color of the linen. It's a wonderful combination of have a formal look, but a comfortable feel. It would be a great chair to curl up in and read a good book.

The Stellata Dress via Anthropologie
I love this shape. Love it. Between that and the colorful print you can dress this up or down.

Colorblock Necklace via Charlotte's
Finally, colorblocking is not just for clothes. This necklace is a great way to incorporate the trend into your accessories. AND! It's only $60!

Fleur Lifestyle Is Here!

I am utterly in love with these Foo Dogs. They want to live with me, I just know it.
Last night's launch of Fleur Lifestyle was fabulous, as expected. All of the Fleur girls looked fabulous, also as expected. Adding lifestyle items to their mix is a great evolution for the store. They are still maintaining their unique and chic womenswear presence, but can now be almost an Anthropologie-esque outlet for their loyal customers. What I think is really interesting is that with most of the items they kicked off this new endeavor with can either be a great gift OR you can finish a room with them. Everything kind of works together.

I was dying over these substantial cotton chevron blankets. They are a great year-round weight-as well as reasonably priced.

Stacked turtles.

Who doesn't need an elephant? Who?

A totally sophisticated AND housebroken dog.

Yummy PJ's in lightweight cotton and sweet prints; perfect for the warmer weather. They do a shorts version and a nightshirt version as well.

So, sooo much to see. Tiny ballerinas for a lil girls room. Vintage birdcages. LOVE the rose colored lucite antlers. They can also be wall mounted with is such a chic look, the touch of pink takes away the masculine edge.

Vintage inspired trunks. Totally functional, but what a fabulous design element.
